Strategic Implementation of DMIC: The Role of DMICDC
To ensure seamless planning and execution, the Government of India has set up a special-purpose vehicle – the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (DMICDC).
Structure and Function:
- Headed by a full-time Chairman and supported by Directors.
- Includes representatives from:
- Government of India
- Financial Institutions
- State Governments
Apex Authority:
An Apex Authority under the Union Finance Minister, with key Central Ministers and Chief Ministers of participating states, provides policy guidance and approvals.
Functions of DMICDC:
- Coordinate project development, financing, and execution.
- Support state governments in planning, funding, and implementation.
- Help in raising finances through sovereign guarantees.
- Raise and manage a Project Development Fund (PDF) for pre-implementation tasks such as DPRs (Detailed Project Reports).
